The Ark of the Covenant is brought to Jerusalem

2 Sam 6:1-23    David brings the Ark of the Covenant from Kireath Jearim in c.1004BC (see 1 Samuel 7:1). The oxen pulling the cart stumble at the threshing floor of Nacon. Uzzah reaches out, touches the Ark and is killed. The place is called Perez Uzzah (‘punishment of Uzzah’). After a further three months delay during which the Ark stays at the house of Obed Edom, the Ark arrives in Jerusalem (see 7 on Map 56).
